The first period
Teaching aims:
1. Get the students to master the words from “first to thirty-first”.
2. The months of a year: January to December.
3. Drills: When is your birthday? My birthday is______.
Teaching difficulties:
The pronunciation of the words.
The way of expressing the dates of birthday.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Warm-up
Free talk and go over the numbers.
Step 2. Presentation
Presents Amy’s birthday party through CAI, and tell them that some of her friends will give others performance. “Let’s welcome the first one to come up to the stage.Look, the first one is Miss piggy. Who is the second one? Let’s welcome to the third one…
2. Present a picture with a question “When is Amy’s birthday?” to present “January first”.
4. “January is the first month of a year. What is the second month of a year?”. Present a calendar of 12 months to teach February, March, April and so on.
