Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Greeting
Greet the students. What’s your name ?. Nice to meet you.
Step 2 Going over
1.Ask some students to come to the front and write “my”, “ his” and “her”.
2.Playing a game. Divide the students into 6 groups according to their column. The first student says My name is Tom. The second student says His name is Tom. My name is Kate. Next students are the same. To see which group can repeat to the end without making a mistake
Step 3 Key words practicing
(1) Tell the students how to write their names in English, eg:
Zhang Mingming.
a. Their second and third character should be together. First letters should be capital.
b. In Chinese Zhang is first name or family name We can call him Mr. Zhang. Mingming is last name or given name
c. D ialogues. Ask the student : What is your name? My name is Li Xiaofen. Hello Miss Li. Tell the students to practice this kind of dialogues
(2) Tell the meaning of English names
(3)The teacher write Tom Smith on the blackboard. Tom is first name or given name and Smith is last name and family name . we can call him Mr. Smith.
(4)Give the students English names
Asking the students to make dialogues with English names. The teacher walks around to help.
