Step1 Warming up
1. Greeting
First wish the class have a happy and healthy new year.
2. Warming up
Say: What do you do during the Spring Festival?
Invite some students to talk about their visits.
Step2 Presentation
1. Learn the new words——names of some countries.
Show a big world map to the students and say: Look! My friend lives here. Do you know the name of the country? It is France.
Teach the other new words by using the map.
2. Write down the new words on the blackboard and let the students make sentences with these words.
Step 3 Practice
1. Do Activity 1a:
Help the students understand the picture and ask one to read the words and phrases on the list.
Then ask the Ss to match the words with the picture on Page1. Then check the answers.
2. Listening practice——Do Activity 1b:
Have the class read the words in 1a and then play the recording. Ask the Ss to circle the items they hear in 1a.
3. Dialogue practice——Do Activity 1c:
Practice the dialogue with the words in 1a. Ask one student and give them an example, then ask them to practice in pairs like this:
A: Where are you from?
B: I’m from …
A: Where is your pen pal from?
B: She is from …
Then let some pairs to act out their dialogues for the class.
Step 4 Presentation & Practice
1. Learn some names of cities like this: I’m from China and I live in Qingdao. Where do you live?
Lucy is from the United States. Where does she live? Ask the Ss one by one to learn the new words of the cities. 2. Write down the new words on the blackboard and lead the Ss to read them, then let them read by t |
