四．语法
一般过去时表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态，常和表示过去的时间状语连用，如：then, at that time, at that moment, just now, just then, recently,yesterday, yesterday morning(afternoon, evening),last night, last week(month, year,Sunday, January);during the war, a few days(months, years)ago, in 1978,on the evening of May 4,at 9:00等。也表示过去经常或反复发生的动作，常和often, always等表示频度的时间状语连用。例如：
一般过去式的在句中是由动词的过去式来体现。
1．一般过去时的肯定句：
I got up at 6:30 yesterday.
My father was at work yesterday afternoon.
He always went to work by bus last year.
2．一般过去时的否定句：
He didn’t get up at 6:30 yesterday.
My father was not at work yesterday afternoon.
They didn’t go to work by bus last week.
3．一般过去时的一般疑问句及其简略回答：
Did he get up at 6:30 yesterday? Yes, he did./No, he didn’t.
